Old L A Farmers Market in Highland Park Every Tuesday.

In season at the Highland Park Farmers Market: The first few weeks in June probably provide the greatest variety of fruits for the season, so please try to make it out to the market and enjoy all the delicious choices. Wonderful late season strawberries have been coming in from the Oxnard area where the recent heat has really sweetened up theberries.

This week we saw our first Rainier cherries of the season. Rainier cherries are the light red and yellow cherries while the California Bing cherry has a deep red color.

To top it all off, stone fruits continue to flood into the market this week. In addition to the apricots, peaches and nectarines that we've had at the market for the last few weeks, the first plums of the season have now been spotted coming in from our Central Valley and High Desert growers.

The Highland Park Certified Farmers Market is located adjacent to the Highland Park Gold Line station at Marmion Way between Ave. 57 & 58 and operates Tuesdays from 3-8 pm. Visit the market website at http://www.oldla.org./ Also visit Seth Budick's website http://www.its.caltech.edu/~sbudick for more information and a Google Maps mashup of participating farms!
